WHEW!
Well I've finished two of my required certifications. In addition to getting through Paramedic school one also has to have several certifications in order to work as a paramedic. Employers will want you to have ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and one or both of the following, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PEPP (Pediatric Emergencies for the Pre-hospital Professional). At my school... we're doing them all.
With ACLS and PALS down.. we just have PEPP left. I still need to devote time to studying the rest of our curriculum as well. All 200 home meds and the 24 Medic Drugs. The final is going to be brutal.
I'm excited about my clinical internship starting in June, but the hospital is using language that is somewhat discouraging when referring to the time frame. Hopefully things will come together and I can get started asap. I already shopping around for a field internship.. in case the school has a hard time finding me one.
Other than that, I'm trying to get in time to visit with friends. Paul might be getting a job at my ambulance company. If that's true, I might change my schedule to work with him. We'll have to see how that works out.
