Just when you thought you knew everything...

One of the really fascinating things about EMS is how dynamic a field it is. One could conclude that given mankind's solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology that we are almost always doing the correct thing for patients, and that new science is rare.

Couldn't be further from the truth. There is already a push to remove Epinephrine from our treatment for trauma and cardiac events and replace it with a vasoconstrictor that has no/low adrenergic stimulation, Vasopressin.

Then a friend recently sent me this article regarding our most basic drug, Oxygen.

The study is pretty interesting, but if any changes come out from this line of research, it will be several years down the line.
